1. Background of the Organisation: The Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) was established in Kinshasa in October 1990 during the 5th International Conference on AIDS and Associated Cancers in Africa, a precursor to the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA). The formation of the SAA with the support of the World Health Organization (W.H.O) brought to an end the practice of holding International Conference on AIDS in Africa outside the African continent. At the same time, it empowered Africans to address and respond to the challenges posed by HIV and AIDS on the continent. The SAA envisions an HIV free Africa with capacity to confront HIV and AIDS and its consequences as well as related diseases (such as Tuberculosis and Malaria). The Society also promotes positive environment and research on HIV and related diseases. The SAA is governed by an Executive Council drawn from South, North, East, West and Central Africa. SAA partners and collaborates with AFRICASO, Society for Women against AIDS in Africa (SWAA), NAP+, the Network of Youths in Africa and it enjoys the support of the UN-System, as well as various International organizations, including the International AIDS Society (IAS). SAA is the custodian of ICASA 2. The Society for AIDS in Africa hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: [Accounts Officer] The services to be provided under the Assignment include the following: The consultant will be an Accounts officer to work for SAA and assist the team in achieving its work program. The Consultant will work directly under the supervision of SAA Coordinator, Head of Finance Department and the project Accountant. More details are provided in the below TORs.
Qualifications Professional qualification in Accounting. Degree in Financial Management or accounting. Master’s degree in Financial Management or accounting is an added advantage. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 year in financial management or financial accounting (preferably in Middle-scale hospitality organization).
ROLE PROFILE The Accounts Officer will be Assisting the Project Accountant and the Finance director in managing the organizations accounting and financial requirement including managing the finance department, procurement function and delegates billing systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE Minimum of 2 years of financial and Accounting experience (preferably in middle scale Nongovernmental organizations).

The Society for AIDS in Africa hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: [Marketing and partnership] The services to be provided under the Assignment include the following: The consultant will be a Marketing & partnership officer to work for SAA’s strategic partnerships and assist the team in achieving its work program particular focus will be related to new partnerships, ICASA / SAA Symposium review preparation, and the implementation of the SAA Marketing and partnership strategy thus resulting in the need to adequately monitor progress and liaise with internal stakeholder on reporting requirements. The Consultant will work directly under the supervision of SAA Coordinator and Head of Finance Department More details are provided in the below TORs. 3. The SAA Permanent Secretariat and Finance Department Invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (documents, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc. 4. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the SAA’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the SAA to include him/her in the shortlist. 5. The estimated duration of services is twelve (12) months and the estimated starting date is 29 April 2016. 6. Individual consultants will be established at the end of the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their resume. -Educational level and qualifications for the proposed assignment 40% – Resource Mobilization experience 5% -Language proficiency (English and French) 30% -Knowledge of the Region 5% -Similar experience in the area of expertise of the assignment as described in the Terms of Reference 30%
The role of the Marketing and Partnership Department (MPD) is to support the financing of ICASA’s based on SAA’s Marketing strategy
1. The Department leads the ICASA’s Marketing and Partnerships, in terms of management of donor & partner relations. The Department achieves its mission by targeting Corporate and non-Corporate organizations which have an interest in Africa. The Department is the focal point for relationships with public and private sector. Thus resulting in the need to adequately monitor progress and liaise with internal stakeholders on reporting requirements. The Consultant will work directly under the supervision with the overall guidance of Permanent secretariat coordinator Director.
2. Major Tasks of the Consultant ·Contribute to the development of strategic options for mobilizing ·Contribute to the planning, conceptualization, elaboration and presentation of the ICASA resource mobilization and negotiation documents; ·Serve as backup to main cooperation officers for one or more donors. Contribute and/or participate in the organization of regular internal and external outreach events for the benefit of staff, clients and other stakeholders, to explain the activities of the different funds; ·Organize business development and strategic initiatives consultations and meetings with partners, investors, institutional funds, enterprises and foundations; ·With particular reference to ICASA, develop a reporting framework for donors/partners to be used by the department and communicate as required with the donor thereon; ·prepare Partnerships Briefs for Senior Management, strategic partnerships agreements, memos and concept notes · Contribute to the effective collaboration with other departments ·Provide general assistance to Manager and support any other tasks assigned by the Coordinator in relation to partnerships and Marketing.
3. Qualifications ·At least a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or in any related field. ·Substantial professional experience in program coordination and very good understanding of Marketing operations and partnerships. ·Proven capacity to deliver output in a timely manner and ability to use relevant computer technology. ·Advanced quantitative skills and expertise in the use of EXCEL, MS WORD, POWER POINT). ·Client and results oriented with strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills, sense of accuracy and attention to detail. ·Ability to deal with sensitive issues in a multicultural environment and to build effective working relationships with colleagues. ·Excellent interpersonal, organizational capacity and communication and writing skills. ·Fluency in English and French as working languages is mandatory.
4. Duration and Location This will be a long term consultancy for 12 months, beginning on 29 April, 2016 and finishing on April, 2017. The Consultancy will take place in Accra – Ghana. The consultancy will require regular full time presence in the SAA’s offices. Missions may occasionally be required. The consultant will be granted a cumulative of 2 days per month of leave. 5. Costs: The consultant will receive a monthly lump sum commensurate with his/her experience with no additional benefits or per diems will be paid. The consultant is responsible for his/her own health insurance and accommodation costs. The SAA will cover full costs of any required missions and provide perdiem in accordance with rules governing SAA mission travel 6. Accountabilities The consultant will formally report to the SAA Permanent Secretariat Coordinator.

Working under direct supervision of the Head of Admins & Finance, the incumbent will assist in the general operations and execution of the SAA Permanent Secretariat activities.
