Exactly a week ago, Accra the capital city of Ghana where the secretariat of the Society for AIDS in Africa is hosted witnessed the worst flooding in the nation’s history.
The floods which lasted over 5 hours took over 200 lives also left in its wake billions of dollars in property damage.
The board and staff of the Society for AIDS in Africa, the custodian of the International Conference on AIDS in Africa, joined the Government and People of Ghana to mourn with the families who lost their beloved in the floods and fire last week.
The Society for AIDS in Africa Headquarters in Ghana was not spared as a result of the floods destroying property worth thousands of dollars including computers, files, printers, furniture, air-conditioners, refrigerators and some sections of the building. Fortunately, all the staff of the secretariat are safe and all hands are on deck in the recovery efforts of the office.
In view of this, response to emails and other programs have significantly slowed down as recovery efforts are underway.
As we work hard to recover and return to normal operations to organize a successful ICASA 2015 event in December, we request your support as we lost the following equipments due to the floods:
We will appreciate any fairly used or new equipments that could be donated to our Secretariat to help us continue operations as we are six months into our main activity which is ICASA ‘’ International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa’
Thank you in advance for your support.
