Prof. Mohamed Chakroun

Mohamed Chakroun is Head of Infectious Diseases department at teaching Hospital and Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of Monastir, Tunisia. He is a physician providing care and supporting people living with HIV with an extensive experience in HIV care, antiretroviral therapy and prevention. He’s engaged with national AIDS program, community groups and health organizations in HIV care, HIV testing services as well as HIV care and prevention guidelines development.

He's national and regional expert on HIV/AIDS providing technical for HIV/AIDS & STIs & Hepatitis Unit in WHO Regional Office (Cairo, Egypt). He’s member of WHO Guideline Development Group for the use of antiretroviral drugs and member of Global HIV Drug Resistance network (HIVResNet).

He’s Chair of CCM Tunisia since 2014 and serves as member of the Ethics and Governance Committee since May 2018 as well as Alternate Board Member for Eastern Mediterranean Region Constituency since March 2019 at The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

He was member of International Steering Committee of ICASA 2017 (Côte d’Ivoire) and member of scientific Committee of ICASA 2019 (Rwanda).
