YOUTH PRE-CONFERENCE

REGISTRATION

The youth pre-conference will be open to all young people and ICASA 2021 youth participants to register online here (TBD) via the main ICASA Conference Website. Registration for the Youth Preconference will be free of charge for all youth participants and ICASA 2021 delegates. However, participation for the main conference ICASA 2021 requires payment of registration fees. Only fully vaccinated delegates whose proof of vaccination has been certified will be allowed to partake in the youth pre-conference. Registration to the physical youth pre-conference will therefore be on a first come first served basis as event capacity allows a maximum of 200 delegates.

SPONSORSHIP

As part of efforts to support the meaningful youth engagement in the fight to end AIDS in Africa, and the financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICASA secretariat will support the ICASA 2021 Youth Pre-conference by securing the venue as well as provide letters of support for youth to various donor agencies to facilitate their logistics for the conference. Preference will be given to those performing key functions in the Youth Pre-Conference.

COVID-19 VACCINATION

All participants for the Youth Pre-conference are expected to be fully vaccinated and are expected to show proof of vaccination at the registration desk before they are granted access to the pre-conference.

ORGANIZATION OF THE YOUTH-PRE-CONFERENCE

The youth pre-conference will be led by the ICASA 2021 Youth Pre-conference organizing committee. The committee consists of young people with expertise in HIV, SRHR programing, advocacy and activism for adolescents, young people and youth from within the 5 geographical regions of Africa.

The organizing committee consists of sub teams, programme team, resource mobilization team and communications team. These teams are working in the respective areas of programme, resource mobilization and communications towards the success of the youth pre-conference and contribute to the successful participation of young people in ICASA 2021.
